Screen printing or embroidery on a t-shirt?
Screen print, almost always. A jersey knit tee is thin and stretchy, which is exactly what embroidery struggles with — the fabric pulls under stitch tension and the logo puckers unless it's backed with cutaway stabilizer, which you then feel against your skin all day.
Embroidery on a tee is worth it in one case: a small left-chest logo on a heavier shirt, where you want the texture and perceived value of stitching for a uniform or a retail piece. On the 6.1 oz Comfort Colors 1717 it works well. On a 4.2 oz Bella+Canvas 3001, we'd talk you out of it.
For anything larger than a chest logo, or any design with fine detail, gradients, or more than a few colors, screen printing is both cheaper and better looking on a tee.
Printing on dark shirts
Any color printed on a dark garment needs a white underbase laid down first, so the ink reads true instead of sinking into the fabric. That's an extra screen and an extra pass on press, and it's part of the price — a one-color print on black costs the same as one color on white.
One thing to know about garment-dyed shirts like the Comfort Colors 1717: the dye is applied after the shirt is sewn, so color varies slightly between pieces and the surface takes ink a little softer. That's the look people buy it for, but if you need exact color consistency across a large run, a standard-dyed shirt is the safer choice.

What is the minimum order for custom t-shirts?
24 pieces. You can mix sizes and garment colors freely within that 24 — the total is what sets your price, not how you split it up.
How long does custom t-shirt printing take?
8 business days to your door on free delivery, 4 on rush, for a typical 48-piece run. Both dates are shown before you order and account for larger runs, which add a couple of days on press.
Can I print on more than one shirt color in the same order?
Yes, at no extra cost. The same screens print on every color, and the white underbase for dark garments is free. 24 black and 24 white is priced identically to 48 black.
Do you charge screen, setup, or digitizing fees?
No. Screens, setup, and digitizing are built into the per-piece price, and US shipping is free. The number you see is the number you pay.
What if my design has more than one color?
A second ink color adds $2.45 per piece at 48 pieces and a third adds $2.25, shown live as you build the order. Up to 14 colors are priced online from your art. Gradients, photo-style detail, or more than 14 colors go to a print expert first — we email you the difference and nothing prints or is charged until you say yes.
What file format do you need for my logo?
Vector art is best — AI, EPS, or PDF. A high-resolution PNG at 300 dpi works for most designs. You don't need artwork to place an order; a print expert reviews your file after you order and sends a mockup for approval before anything goes to press.
