Sponge fleece is a lighter, smoother-faced fleece with very little of the fuzz you get on a standard sweatshirt, and Bella+Canvas builds the 3901 with the same Airlume cotton as their tee. Raglan sleeves and side seams make it fit like something you would buy for yourself.
This is the crewneck for merch you intend to sell. Eight ounces, 36 colors, sizes XS to 3XL. The smooth face takes fine detail that a fuzzier fleece would lose. It is a retail-priced garment, so for a straightforward giveaway the 50/50 options do the job for less than half the money.
