A fine jacquard is knit with a subtle repeating texture rather than woven flat, so the Port Authority K528 has quiet visual interest up close and reads as plain from across the room. The fabric is 100% polyester at 4.1 ounces, so it wicks and it does not wrinkle.
It is a step up in appearance from a basic pique without moving into golf shirt pricing. Eleven colors, sizes XS to 4XL, embroidered. The texture is shallow enough that stitching sits flat on it. If you want the softest, most breathable option in the group, the Nike Dri-FIT polos still lead; this one wins on looking tidy at the end of a long day.
